World Cup South Africa 2010 Magazines

The Soccer International Magazine succeeded in fooling me the other day... I saw this in a dodgy corner store as I was walking home and my eyes lit up! $15 dollars later I pulled it out of the paper bag thinking it was a FIFA's Official World Cup South Africa 2010 release to find it was a local opinion on it all! Not to worry too much, it's still a good read... I just don't like being tricked! There's plenty of other special World Cup editions popping up... Will be interesting to see which publications manage to get some different content.

Yer it's not amazing is it.

Make sure you check out the second version of it though (Yes they're doing 2 versions...), the pieces on Nigeria, Cameroon and Algeria in it (comes out a week or so before the WC) are by yours truly :)

Ohh and btw, how'd you manage to score the trip on the boat for the unveiling of the new Socceroos strip?

Looked like fun :P

Looking at the mag front cover(covering over that gorgeous smile!), can any symbolism or WC omens be drawn from "les Elephants" (Cote d'Ivoire) and the Argentine player ?! I'm going left field after arrival in SA on 4 June to secure a Lesotho view of the WC - hope they have some sort of local mag that is outside the mainstream gloss and yet too often little substance or cred. Also, to fellow fans travelling, think about keeping and recycling your old football mags into the local communities, as such material is beyond the reach of affordability for most South African's living on or below the "breadline".
